Uninstalling software, browser add-ons, and extensions are easy. Follow the steps below for your operating system and browser.

Windows 10

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. Click on Apps.
  4. Click the application you want to uninstall.
  5. Click Uninstall.
  6. Follow any prompts if presented, and you’re done!

Windows 8 and 7

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Click on Control Panel.
  3. In the upper right corner, type program in the search bar.
  4. Click Programs and Features.
  5. Select the enabled software you installed, and click Uninstall in the button above.
  6. Follow the prompts, and you’re done!

Windows Vista

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Click on Control Panel.
  3. Under Programs, select Uninstall a Program.
  4. Select the enabled software you installed, and click Uninstall in the button above.
  5. Follow the prompts, and you’re done!

Windows XP

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Click on Control Panel.
  3. Click Add / Remove Programs
  4. Select the enabled software you installed, and click the Change / Remove button.
  5. Follow the prompts, and you’re done!

Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Click on Control Panel.
  3. Click Add / Remove Programs
  4. Select the software you installed, and click the Change / Remove button.
  5. Follow the prompts, and you’re done!

Mac OS X

  1. Click Finder.
  2. Click Applications.
  3. Right click on the application you want to remove.
  4. Select Move to Trash.

 

Removing Browser Extensions

To remove browser extensions and plugins follow the steps below.

Internet Explorer

  1. Open the desktop, and then tap or click the Internet Explorer icon on the taskbar.
  2. Tap or click the Tools button Tools button, and then tap or click Manage add-ons.
  3. Under Show, tap or click All add-ons, and then select the add-on you want to delete.
  4. If the add-on can be deleted, you’ll see the Remove option. Tap or click Remove and then tap or click Close.

Chrome

  1. Click the Chrome menu Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
  2. Click Tools.
  3. Select Extensions.
  4. Click the trash can icon Remove an extension from Chrome by the extension you’d like to completely remove.
  5. A confirmation dialog appears, click Remove.

Firefox

  1. Click the menu button and choose Add-ons. The Add-ons Manager tab will open.
  2. In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Extensions or Appearance panel.
  3. Select the add-on you wish to remove.
  4. Click the Remove button.
  5. Click Restart now if it pops up. Your tabs will be saved and restored after the restart.
