Uninstalling software, browser add-ons, and extensions are easy. Follow the steps below for your operating system and browser.
Windows 10
- Click the Start button.
- Click on Settings.
- Click on Apps.
- Click the application you want to uninstall.
- Click Uninstall.
- Follow any prompts if presented, and you’re done!
Windows 8 and 7
- Click the Start button.
- Click on Control Panel.
- In the upper right corner, type program in the search bar.
- Click Programs and Features.
- Select the enabled software you installed, and click Uninstall in the button above.
- Follow the prompts, and you’re done!
Windows Vista
- Click the Start button.
- Click on Control Panel.
- Under Programs, select Uninstall a Program.
- Select the enabled software you installed, and click Uninstall in the button above.
- Follow the prompts, and you’re done!
Windows XP
- Click the Start button.
- Click on Control Panel.
- Click Add / Remove Programs
- Select the enabled software you installed, and click the Change / Remove button.
- Follow the prompts, and you’re done!
Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000
- Click the Start button.
- Click on Control Panel.
- Click Add / Remove Programs
- Select the software you installed, and click the Change / Remove button.
- Follow the prompts, and you’re done!
Mac OS X
- Click Finder.
- Click Applications.
- Right click on the application you want to remove.
- Select Move to Trash.
Removing Browser Extensions
To remove browser extensions and plugins follow the steps below.
Internet Explorer
- Open the desktop, and then tap or click the Internet Explorer icon on the taskbar.
- Tap or click the Tools button Tools button, and then tap or click Manage add-ons.
- Under Show, tap or click All add-ons, and then select the add-on you want to delete.
- If the add-on can be deleted, you’ll see the Remove option. Tap or click Remove and then tap or click Close.
Chrome
- Click the Chrome menu
on the browser toolbar.
- Click Tools.
- Select Extensions.
- Click the trash can icon
by the extension you’d like to completely remove.
- A confirmation dialog appears, click Remove.
Firefox
- Click the menu button and choose . The Add-ons Manager tab will open.
- In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the panel.
- Select the add-on you wish to remove.
- Click the button.
- Click Restart now if it pops up. Your tabs will be saved and restored after the restart.
